NEWSLETTER FROM CHARLES AND AKIIKI MUYU

It’s hard to believe that we are already in the sixth month of 2011. Time seems to fly like never before. The word of the Apostle Paul “redeeming the time for the days are evil” are so appropriate for us, for indeed these are very evil times. So we have been very busy in His vineyard and the fruit of our labor has been very profitable. It’s hard to capture in writing all what God has, and is doing in our midst so we will just give a synopsis of the highlights.

We came to the end of the year with our annual Regional Convention lasting six days glorious days of heaven on earth. The Holy Ghost moved in our midst like never before. Our theme based on Obadiah 1:17 “But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.”
We had record-breaking attendance of delegates outside Nairobi including from Northern Uganda. Lives were transformed and renewed by messages preached everyday from the pulpit.

THE MONTH OF JANUARY 2011.

We kicked off the year with an all night prayers 31st December and the event was full of jubilation. We all left with an awesome confidence of an assurance that God will be with us in the tough times ahead which are coming on the earth. Our 21 days fasting and prayer followed from January 10th to January31st. This year we did it differently called a prayer camp. Those who were able moved to encamp at our headquarters Church Sanctuary which was open 24 hours prayers. Anybody could come in to seek the Lord anytime day and night the whole period we dedicated to prayers. It was very awesome time and people testified of deep spiritual experiences, others were healed and deliverances took place. We give God all the glory for great things indeed He did in our midst. Concurrently, during the 21 days period fasting and prayer every Sunday, there were deliverance services. Many oppressed of the devil were delivered.

FEBRUARY 9TH SPECIAL MEETING WITH EASTERN PROVINCE PASTORS.
I called for a meeting which brought pastors from eastern province (Kamba tribe) together to discuss the spiritual hindrance to the Gospel in the area. It was well attended and other meetings followed. I also called for senior Bishops from the area to come together and discuss strategy of uprooting ancestral devilish altars in the tribe, and break oaths and covenants of the devil made by our forefathers that has put a curse in the land. God gave me favor and they came. We are still working out the best way of doing it.

FEBRUARY 10TH – FEBRUARY 13TH OPEN AIR MEETING.

We had an out door Evangelist meeting in one of the sprawling slums of Nairobi for three consecutive days. Uncompromising Gospel was preached to sinners, and each day a number of people came to Jesus and accepted Him as Lord and Savior. This was very timely meeting in the area for few days after meetings the slum was gutted down by a fierce fire. Many lost their properties but believers in the ghettos had wonderful testimonies of God’s divine protection.

CONSECRATION OF PASTOR STEPHEN MAWEU FEBERUARY 20TH
AS BISHOP.
Our work has continued to expand in many places in East and Central Africa, and there has been a need for assisting Bishop to help with the responsibilities of the ministry. Rev. Stephen Maweu who has served faithfully in this ministry for the past 31 years was consecrated Bishop. It was an auspicious occasion attended by distinguished Bishops from twelve denominations. They were a colleague of Bishops who installed him as Bishop. It was a colorful event.

KALEMBENI CRUSADE MARCH 10TH – MARCH 13TH.

I was requested by one of our District Overseer to hold a crusade in a very remote place and needed the Gospel in Eastern province of Kenya. A place we had started to plant a church. This area has been in total darkness; people bound in witchcraft and ancestral worship of the devil for the Gospel had never penetrated there.

We actually experienced the unusual supernatural attacks of powers of darkness the first day of the crusade, as we put up our sound system for the crusade. Fire from no where burnt out the system, thick smoke coming out of the speakers in a way we never seen before. But what followed in the next four days amazed all of us and the entire area. It was a spiritual war as the Holy Spirit manifested His power openly defeating the powers of darkness. We witnessed deliverance we had never seen before as many children as young as five years old, tormented of evil spirits screaming, and rolling on the ground like snakes were set free by the power of God. They had turned up in big numbers, attentively listened to the preaching of the gospel and were seriously hungry for Jesus and waiting to be delivered. They flocked to the altar call, gave their lives to Christ and gloriously delivered after the prayers.

We were greatly amazed for children are supposed to be innocent but these ones were full of demons. One child delivered told us each night was life and death. Terrifying spirits in a form of monsters would come to kill him. They choke him and carry him in a horrible place with snakes and other terrible creatures he could not tell what they were. Thank God for the salvation of our Lord Jesus Christ. There were so many testimonies that we could not listen to all of them. Also, many elderly people men and women who had served Satan for years and were bound and sick came to Jesus and were healed and set free, demons throwing them on the ground shaking, screaming and crying in a loud voice.

The last day of the crusade was just amazing. The crusade kicked off at 4.00 pm and went on until after 9.00 pm. I preached, made altar call for salvation then healing and deliverance. The Holy Spirit showed up in the glorious way as we all witnessed very unusually supernatural encounter with God for those who came forward to receive Jesus Christ. Then I called up for all who wanted to be baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost. What happened next on the crusade ground is hard to describe in human language. There was Holy confusion as God’s power came upon the ground, touching hundreds of people who were there. Some ran screaming as mad people under the influence of demons, without knowing what they were doing, and were later picked up in the bush laying there as dead people. It was such an awesome visitation of the Holy Spirit and for sure Kalembeni was visited by God and will never be the same again.

KAYATTA MEETINGS WITH VISITING BRETHREN MARCH 31TH-APRIL 4TH
We had special meeting with the visiting brethren from Atlanta Georgia for a week in the city of Nairobi and then went to a place called Kayatta, East of Kenya. During the morning hours was teaching seminar to the pastors and church leaders and in the evening evangelistic meeting out doors in a shopping center. The teaching greatly blessed the church leaders from the anointed team. The Lord saved, healed and delivered people who came for salvation. We give God all the glory.

IN APRIL WE HAD THREE SIGNIFICANT MEETINGS.

(1) Leadership conference in Mombasa. April. 7th – April 9th
On April 6th I flew to Mombasa City on the east coast of Kenya for the pastors and leaders conference. It was my first time to have this kind of conference in the area. Our District Overseer on the coast along with our pastors in the area arranged for leaders conference attended by some Bishops, pastors and leaders from different denominations. I was the keynote speaker and daily had two sessions and one in the afternoon, teaching on LEADERSHIP, ANOINTING and A VISION FROM GOD. For those attended said that it was powerful. The Spirit of the Lord touched so many pastors. In a Holy Spirit session the power of God came down and pastors were crying as the Spirit brought total conviction in their hearts. After the seminar I was invited to go back for a city wide leadership conference. One Bishop told me that those who did not know about the conference missed a lot of blessings and the next time I come to the area will make sure all the leaders and pastors in the city know about it. Later on reports came in on what God did in individual lives. We give God all the Glory.

(2) YOUTH ANNUAL SEMINAR EVERY EASTER WEEKEND. 2011 WAS APRIL 22ND THROUGH APRIL 24TH
The annual youth seminar was held over the Passover weekend. Many young people and unmarried from age 19 and above attended. They were much blessed with the teachings, touched of the Lord, filled with the Holy Spirit and many rededicated to the Lord. It was a refreshing time with the youth. The last session on Sunday afternoon was questions and answers time. They asked a lot of questions which was answered by a panel of pastors. They liked it so much and desired to have another one before too long.

(3) THE CHILDREN’S BIBLE CAMP APRIL 27th THROUGH APRIL29TH.

Our ministry started children’s Bible camp and has brought many children to the Lord. Parents from our church bring their children to the camp. Also, we ask parents from the area, Christians and none Christians to allow their children to come and participate in the teaching of the word of God and the respond has been great. Many parents are thankful to the Lord the way these camps are changing their children. We have these camps periodically and we thank God the way is moving among the children. After the children’s camp is followed by prayer camp and the children are responding very well. It is a new ministry we started last year and God is expanding it in a great way.

The activities were planned to suit children. The theme for the past one was PURITY. Each day from 9.00 to after 4.00 pm, the pastoral staff taught, prayed and played with them. It was very enriching experience as the group came in touch with their pastors. Children from age two to seventeen years old came for the Bible camp. We divided them in five classes according to their age group. There were a lot of teachings for the teen group and counseling. On Sunday service each group presented what they had learned through scriptures, songs, dances and short play to their parents and the congregation. Many adults were moved to tears as they were ministered to by the young ones.

Month of May was dedicated to seeking the Lord in prayer. The prayer camp began on May 2nd and went for three weeks based on Ps 63:1-2. “O God, thou art my God; early will I seek Thee: my soul thirsteth for Thee, my flesh longeth for Thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; To see Thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen Thee in the sanctuary.”

We minister the word of God every Sunday in the churches and during the week teaching the word of God on Wednesdays. We thank you so much for your prayers and support. May the Lord continue to bless you and reward you abundantly. Because of your financial support we have been able, with the help of Jesus Christ, to do much for HIS kingdom.
